Hotel Services/Facilities: Alami Alor Dive & Snorkel Resort has seven spacious and private waterfront ocean view bungalows, allowing for a maximum capacity of just 14 guests (max. 12 divers). The resort is intimate and comfortable, whilst offering spacious grounds and public spaces and stunning ocean views.

Resort facilities include a well-equipped dive centre, an enticing open-air restaurant offering a communal meal-time experience, a spacious and airy central guest area at the waterfront decorated with local artifacts, and an infinity pool offering fantastic sunset views over Kalabahi Bay. Laundry Service, including dry cleaning, is free of charge. Wi-Fi is available and free for guests in the lounge area.

Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: All guests are booked at Alami Alor Dive & Snorkel Resort on a Full Board basis, with 2 or 3 dives included (as booked) on diving days. Dining at Alami Alor is a communal experience, with all meals served in the open-air dining room at a shared table, prompting interaction and conversation among guests and hosts during meals.

Breakfast offers à la carte choices of Western or Indonesian options, while lunch and dinner feature a variety of home-style Indonesian and tropical-themed set menus prepared by chefs using local organic ingredients. The resort can cater to vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary requirements upon request.

Self-service afternoon tea with snacks is available daily and the resort bar is found in the lounge and the Infinity Pool area, selling a selection of local beer, Southern Hemisphere wine, homemade mocktails and spirits (gin, vodka, rum and tequila cocktails).

Transfers: Guests arrive at Alor Mali Airport* (ARD). A driver from the resort will be waiting for you and the drive to Alamo Alor Dive Resort takes approximately one hour.

* The most direct routes to get to Alor Mali Airport are via Bali or Jakarta. From Bali or Jakarta, to reach Alor, flights transit through Kupang airport (KOE). There are daily flights to Kupang (KOE) and from Kupang there is a daily flight to Alor Mali Airport.

Alami Alor Dive & Snorkel Resort has just seven guest bungalows. Each is of an equal standard and all are located by the waterfront. Each bungalow is accessed via a private pebble path, leading to your tropical hardwood terrace and ocean-front seating area.

Inside, your bedroom features a full glass ocean facing frontage with either 1 king or 1 king + 1 single spring bed, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, wardrobe and desk. The en-suite open-air bathroom has a western toilet, hand soap, body soap, hair shampoo & conditioner, hair dryer, a cold-water sink and a fresh hot water rain shower providing aerial views of the tropical forest canopy.

Each bungalow has a private outside seating area with two lounge chairs on which to relax and enjoy the stunning ocean views.

Located at the heart of the coral triangle, diving in Alor offers some of the best scuba diving experiences in Indonesia. The area is renowned for its amazing visibility, stunning coral reefs, pelagic encounters, and small, bizarre critters in the muck dive sites.

Scuba diving and snorkelling in Alor offers the chance to explore multiple types of underwater environments in one location, without crowds. Alor’s Pantar Strait offers a wide range of coral walls and slopes, fields of anemones, volcanic cliffs and caves, plus schools of colourful fish to round off this tropical aquarium!

Inside Kalabahi Bay, you can experience a different underwater environment entirely. A variety of black and white sandy slopes with lots of rocks and rubble, makes for the perfect muck diving environment. You will soon discover truly marvellous creatures such as the wunderpus octopus and other masters of camouflage such as frogfish and the elusive rhinopias scorpionfish.

The local dive / snorkel guides and photo-pro will guide you and ensure you get to see as much as possible. Boat rides to dive and snorkel sites can be equally exciting with the chance to encounter multiple species of dolphins, whales and even mola-mola. Bottlenose and spinner dolphins are often spotted and at times joined by large pods of melon-headed whales. Blue whales can be spotted at any time, with their numbers and frequency increasing during seasonal migrations. With the correct timing in the moon cycle and a bit of luck, the boat crew will take you between or after your dive / snorkel sessions, to look for mola-mola.

Alami Alor Dive & Snorkel Resort specialises in providing personalised diving and snorkelling experiences tailored to guest’s interests. With a maximum capacity of 12 scuba divers or 14 snorkellers, the resort ensures an intimate, customised service.

The dive centre is onsite, spacious and well-equipped, ensuring your diving experience is seamless and hassle-free. The experienced local guides will take divers and snorkellers to local sites depending on the best tidal conditions.

Guests are split across two speedboats with a maximum of 6-8 guests on each boat depending on experience levels and interests. The guide to guest ratio is a maximum 4:1. The resort caters for certified divers only, so no courses are offered.

Diving packages include either 2 or 3 daily guided boat dives, with unlimited, unguided house reef dives, including tanks, free Nitrox for certified divers, weight belt & weights. Additional boat dives are subject to local conditions / availability and payable locally.

Snorkelling packages include a set number of guided boat trips, conducted every morning for best sea conditions. The afternoons are free to explore the resort’s stunning house reef. Additional guided afternoon boat snorkel sessions are subject to local conditions / availability and payable locally.

The Dive & Snorkel Centre, Camera Room & Pier are located together at one end of the resort. The air-conditioned camera room offers individual stations for camera set-up, storage and charging. An in-house Photo Pro is available for camera equipment and underwater photography advice. Soak tanks and a drying station are available just outside at the top of the pier.

The resort pier is approximately 25 metres long and has a shaded seating area at the end, with a pivoting, floating platform that makes boarding the boat or entering the water for a house reef dive or snorkel as easy for guests as possible at any time.

Visibility ranges from 15 metres during and around the rainy season, to up to an impressive 40 metres in the dry season (June to October). The topography of the dive sites consists mainly of walls and slopes. The dive sites are located within a marine park where only local fishermen are allowed to fish.

Although the average water temperature is between 26°C to 28°C, thermoclines are common and the water can drop at times to 20°C, or sometimes as low as 16°C.

The Pantar Strait is renowned for its unpredictable currents, therefore we recommend having at least 100 dives and feeling comfortable with drift diving if you would like to be able to fully enjoy the range of dive sites that Alor has to offer.
