A choice of year-round itineraries showcases the best diving in this area. Sailing south from Al-Lith port, around 200 km south of Jeddah, Farasan Banks is an area of virgin reefs and wild islands. Keep an eye out in the blue for whale sharks, hammerheads, white tip and black tip reef sharks, as well as turtles and dolphins. Steep walls contrast with shallow coral gardens, pinnacles and horseshoe bays, displaying pristine hard and soft corals with prolific fish life.

Heading 300 km north along the coast from Jeddah, the port of Yanbu is the departure point for itineraries taking in the renowned Seven Sisters and Five Corals. Divers can expect to see hammerhead sharks, silvertip, and silky sharks but the real surprise will be the richness of the walls where multitudes of hard corals mix with forests of gorgonians. Limestone pinnacles are jam-packed with shoals of fish. The healthy reefs here are full of spellbinding colour and a paradise for keen underwater photographers.
