Mexico Liveaboard Holidays
Quino del Mar
LUXURY LIVEABOARD HOLIDAYS TO MEXICO
Quino del Mar is a purpose-built dive liveaboard, launched in 2025 to replace the Quino El Guardian and raise the bar for liveaboard diving in Mexico. At around 36 metres with a solid steel hull and built-in stabilisers, she’s engineered for a smooth, secure ride on long transits to remote destinations – ideal for Revillagigedo Islands (Socorro) trips as well as itineraries through the Sea of Cortez, Midriff Islands and Baja.
Quino del Mar comfortably accommodates up to 20 guests in 10 private, air-conditioned ensuite staterooms. The vessel offers divers modern and roomy cabins, spacious common areas, great diving facilities and modern safety systems. Everything about the vessel is focused on making diving productive: a large, well-organised dive deck with freshwater showers and a dedicated camera table, expert dive staff, plentiful tender support for drift and boat dives, and Nitrox availability for qualified divers.
Typical itineraries include multi-day Socorro expeditions (with long overnight transits from Cabo San Lucas) and shorter Sea of Cortez/Midriff cruises. Guests can expect multiple dives per day, abundant big-animal encounters and numerous incredible photo opportunities. This is diving at its absolute best!
Liveaboard Services / Facilities: 10 private en-suite cabins for up to 20 guests, with a mix of queen, twin and convertible king beds across the lower and upper decks. The main deck features a spacious salon with comfortable seating, a dining area, a computer station, and a dedicated camera table with charging points and rinse tanks, ideal for underwater photographers. Guests can relax on the shaded upper-deck patio or the sun deck with loungers. All guest areas are fully air-conditioned for comfort between dives.
Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: Guests will enjoy three well-balanced meals daily. Each day starts early with a continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, bagels, yogurt, breads and freshly brewed coffee. After the first dive, guests enjoy a plated, made-to-order breakfast. After the second dive, guests will be served a hot homemade soup followed by a hot plated lunch. Snacks are available every afternoon. For dinner, guests enjoy a three-course, plated meal. Hot and cold beverages are always available including canned soft drinks. Divers can also enjoy complimentary beer and wine after their last dive of the day. The chef can accommodate for most special dietary needs including gluten-free and vegan.

Quino del Mar’s itineraries focus on remote, pelagic-rich dive sites including the Revillagigedo Islands, Baja Peninsula, and the Sea of Cortez, offering unparalleled encounters with hammerhead sharks, giant mantas, dolphins, and other spectacular marine life.
Divers are strongly advised to have an advanced diving qualification with a minimum of 50 logged dives, as the diving can be challenging. Good buoyancy skills are crucial. Given the demanding nature of diving, participants must maintain good physical health, engage in regular diving activities and have recent diving experience. It is imperative that each diver comprehends their own diving proficiencies and limitations. For those requiring more personalised attention, booking a private divemaster is recommended at a rate of $750 per trip. To secure a private divemaster, please let Diverse Travel know at least 30 days before your scheduled trip.
The boat’s dive platforms are meticulously arranged, with each diver assigned a designated dive station. On board, a well-equipped camera table with numerous power outlets and access to compressed air and fire-retardant Lipo bags for charging lithium batteries.
80 cubic ft. aluminium tanks are compatible with both DIN and yoke connections, along with weights and belts for divers’ convenience. The diving operations utilize two 18-foot Achilles inflatable pangas, each accompanied by a vigilant driver who constantly monitors the surface for emerging bubbles. The transfer from the boat to the dive site is typically brief, facilitated by sturdy ladders on the pangas.
Divers are organised into 3 groups, each led by a divemaster for the dive excursions. Upon receiving a detailed dive briefing, each group gears up, embarks on the panga and enters the water with a back-roll entry. The attentive crew is available to assist divers with any physical limitations they may have. Group dives are conducted, and at the conclusion of the dive, the panga will approach each diver. Weight belts and BCDs are removed and lifted into the boat by the driver, and divers then remove their fins before boarding the vessel. Upon returning to the main boat, the crew will stow the gear and can hand back any cameras to the divers.
