Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities:  The Mantis St Helena restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and you can choose to sit on the terrace for al fresco dining. Themed dining experiences are also on offer. Noted for its exceptional wine list, there is a wide choice of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available from the cocktail bar. Guests will enjoy a post-dinner walk down to the nearby seafront or passing the time chatting in the comfortable hotel lounge.

The Mantis St Helena offers 22 contemporary rooms, 5 Heritage Suites and 3 Heritage Rooms. 

All rooms have king size beds and those in the contemporary rooms can be separated into twin beds. Rooms have either an en-suite bath or shower, and WC, air-conditioning, a flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, telephone, and luggage storage space. 

Contemporary Rooms – Situated in a newly constructed building linked to the original buildings by a terrace. Two rooms can be interconnected, and two rooms have en-suite bathrooms designed for wheelchair users. Sleeps 2 adults.

Heritage Rooms – These larger rooms are situated in the original historic buildings and have more traditional furnishings. They offer a king size bed and a seating area with views of Jacob’s Ladder. Two of these rooms can be interconnected.  Sleeps 2 adults

Heritage Suites – These grander rooms with classic styling are situated in the original historic buildings (3 suites) and an outside ‘cottage’ (2 suites). These rooms include a king size bed, additional lounge area with a street view. Sleeps 2 adults

Sub-Tropic Adventures have been established on St Helena since 2000. They are a passionate and friendly team with a wealth of local experience. 

Single or two tank morning dives are the norm with most diving taking place from a Rib. The dive rates include tanks and weights. Divers typically meet at the dive centre around 8.30am and return after two dives in time for lunch at 12.30-1pm.

The dive centre hub at the harbour in Jamestown allows easy access to all the main dive sites. Diving is offered throughout the year with the peak diving period and warmest, clearest waters from January – May which coincides with the main Whale Shark season. 

Snorkelling with Whale Shark trips are scheduled in the afternoons and give the best chance of encountering Whale Sharks in significant numbers. The trips take 3-4 hours and are accompanied by experienced guides.

Night dives, general snorkelling trips, dolphin watching, and coastal tours can also be pre-booked or arranged in resort. Dive courses from PADI DSD to Divemaster and equipment hire (Scubapro and Suunto) available.
