Captain Don’s Habitat

Hotel Services/Facilities: The hotel has a swimming pool and a number of bars and restaurants. A small shop and the Graceful Touch Wellness Spa are on site. Habitat is also home to a PADI Resort and SDI centre. The capital of Kralendijk is a 45 minute-walk away or less than 15 minutes’ drive.

Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: Breakfast is served in Rum Runners overlooking the sea. Lunch and Dinner offer good variety with a BBQ on a Monday with A La Carte menus offered from Tuesday to Sunday.

Transfers: From Bonaire Airport to Captain Don’s Habitat by road with an approximate transfer time of 15 minutes.

Habitat’s accommodation is comprised of Deluxe Ocean View, Deluxe Junior Suite, Ocean Villas, 2 Bedroom and 1 Bedroom Bungalows, as well as Deluxe Garden Suite and Rooms. The variety of views on offer mean that Pool, Sea and Garden views are possible; currently there are a total of 57 rooms.

The rooms are air conditioned and contain full private facilities and have either a Balcony or Patio, and are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave. Free Wifi is available in most rooms.

Captain Don’s Habitat Dive Operation is a PADI Resort and an SDI 5 Star Professional Development Center. It is centrally located within the resort complex for easy access from all rooms. 

There are three 1-tank boat departures daily, at 8.30 AM, 11 AM and 2 PM, to over 50 moored sights in their custom-built dive boats. Each mooring buoy is limited to 1 boat for uncrowded diving.

Nitrox fills and technical equipment rental are available locally with the excellent TDI facility on site.

Diving Freedom means 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with no rush or anxiety, just take a giant stride off the divers-only pier “baby dock” and you’re already looking at clusters of starlet coral, surrounded by colourful wrasse and gobies, and the drop-off starts in 30 feet, only a few kicks away. 

Shore diving can be part of a dive pack and really is a must at Habitat and around the island of Bonaire which is rated as the top shore diving destination in the world! Following accepted safe diving practices, you can grab a tank and go….whenever you want.
