LIVEABOARD HOLIDAYS TO TRUK
SS Thorfinn is a large and well equipped liveaboard with more than 30 years’ experience of diving Micronesian waters. From operating base at Truk Lagoon, continuous non-stop diving is conducted 7 days per week, with up to 5 dives per day, on 5 differing sites – giving opportunity to view 30+ wrecks during a one week visit.
Thorfinn is the perfect choice for re-breather and technical divers with onboard oxygen generators, a range of sofnalime and sodasorb grades available, Helium and a number of twin cylinders on-board for hire. With up to 5 dives a day planned, this is a great option for serious divers!
Liveaboard Services/Facilities: On the main deck is the large dining room. The lounge deck is the perfect place to relax with a well-stocked bar and large picture windows. A large hot-tub is the perfect place to relax under the night sky.
Food, Beverage & Entertainment Facilities: Breakfast is cooked to order with other meals chosen daily by the chef from a varied menu. A variety of delicious meals and daily fresh baked goods are offered daily. The bar provides a range of beverages – from coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks, to beers, wines and spirits at reasonable cost. Evenings are a relaxed affair with DVD player, a CD player with IPOD connection, and a surround sound 6 speaker system. A well-stocked DVD and paperback book library, magazine rack, reference books (fish, wrecks) are all available for guest use.
There are 10 standard ensuite cabins on 2 decks, 3 cabins with shared facilities, all with in-cabin washbasins, TV and DVD players.
Thor’s Lair – an exclusive luxury suite – has been created from two former main deck cabins, featuring a huge king size bed, adjoining bed settee, 44 inch TV monitor/player, PC table/chair, carpeted walls, 4 view windows, walk-in closet, bar fridge, bedside lighting controls, and large shower/toilet room. It is available for a slight premium over regular fares.

Diving is from two 30ft launches and two 24ft fibreglass boats complete with under seat gear bins and camera shelves. Kitting up is from one of the two dive stations on the main deck, allowing plenty of room for dive gear and cameras. An optional valet system is offered for your kit and cameras. Up to five dives a day are planned with an optional night dive each day. Experienced Divemasters accompany each dive, which are preceded by a full briefing.
Rebreather and technical diving is well catered for; Nitrox is available and a range of courses can be booked onboard.
